Role Description:

 

The Outage Project Lead is an exciting opportunity based at our Cockburn Power Station site. Reporting to the Manager Cockburn and Kwinana Gas Generation, the Outage Project Lead works as an effective member of the Cockburn team and demonstrates a commitment to drive safety, stakeholder focus and alignment with the culture of Synergy.

The Outage Project Lead will ensure the effective execution of contracted major maintenance outages, leading the coordination of outage activities and providing specialist technical and commercial advice to achieve the agreed outage objectives.

The Outage Project Lead plays an integral role in the execution of the Gas Generation strategy and achievement of the underpinning business unit initiatives. The Outage Project Lead will focus on fostering operational and maintenance excellence practices at Cockburn and Kwinana supporting the implementation of continuous improvement ideas.

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Estimate and schedule scopes of work to be performed by contractors and plan and execute outages in accordance with GG outage framework.
  • Support the development of the annual business plan including budgets for major outages aligned to the Gas Generation asset strategy.
  • Take responsibility for the safety of Cockburn Gas Generation employees and contractors in accordance with relevant legislation and Synergy’s and/or contractors OSH policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver Major Maintenance Outage work scopes that are in accordance with the asset lifecycle plans for the Cockburn Gas Generation assets.
  • In collaboration with Procurement, develop, implement, and maintain a robust contract management framework and system for extracting maximum value from existing Gas Generation (GG) supplier relationships.

 

What you will bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project/Contractor Management or Business/Frontline Management or formal qualifications in engineering or Electrical/Mechanical trade certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing and supervising successful delivery of maintenance and outage contracts in power generation and/or industrial process industry
  • Extensive outage and maintenance management experience leading and managing multiskilled teams and a history of delivering major projects successfully meeting safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbine and generator power station safety and maintenance systems, equipment, processes, and practices
  • Extensive knowledge of contract management and financial management processes.
