Role Description:

The Operator Maintainer is an exciting opportunity at our Muja Power Station site. The Operator Maintainers are responsible for operation and provision of basic first line and planned maintenance for the Precipitation Ash Disposal (PAD), Bottom Ash Disposal (BAD), Water Services and Water Treatment Plants to ensure that Muja Power Station achieves availability, reliability and generation production targets as required.

Job responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maintain manual and automated Precipitator (PAD) and Bottom Ashing Disposal (BAD)   systems to ensure the continuous availability of generating units.
  • Operate, maintain, monitor, and regulate the supply, treatment, and remediation of the Supply Water System to ensure a secure source of Supply Water to Muja and Collie Power Stations.
  • Operate, maintain, and monitor hydrogen production/storage plant to ensure availability of hydrogen for the plant.
  • Operate, maintain, and monitor demineralization water quality including regular regeneration anion cation, and mixed bed resin beds and condensate polishing to ensure required water quality for all aspects of plant operation.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, fault-finding and adjusting of plant and equipment to ensure optimum operation of all plant.

What you will bring:

  • Must possess a trade certificate in electrical or mechanical disciplines or equivalent knowledge.
  • 5-7 years of experience in operations or maintenance of a coal fired power station or similar process plant experience.
  • Experience in the areas of permit to work and safe work procedures are necessary.
  • A sound knowledge of environmental procedures and licence requirements is necessary.
  • Water treatment operations experience essential and strong computer skills to navigate plant monitoring system menus, interpret screen graphs and data and respond to process alarms or status reports.
