Role Description:
The Power Station Controller is an exciting opportunity based at our Muja Power Station site.
In a shift work environment, you will provide real time management and operation of power station plant and ancillary equipment ensuring the safety of personnel and plant, and adherence to statutory requirements and support of Synergy’s objectives.
Job responsibilities:
- Contributing to and supporting the power generating systems to ensure planned outputs are met
- Managing own work and coordinating the work other Synergy employees to provide optimal power production to meet Branch and Synergy’s goals.
- Ensuring power plant activities are scheduled in accordance with approved programmes
- Operate power plant in accordance with Synergy’s operating procedures, standards, and the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules.
- Liaise with Networks Systems Operations Control Centre to establish power demand and supply requirements to provide energy supply and systems stability.
What you will bring:
- Appropriate WorkSafe certification for Boiler and Turbine Operations
- Appropriate certification in a relevant discipline or Trades Certificate in a relevant discipline
- Power Plant Operator course or equivalent, such as Certificate IV ESI Generation
- 5-8 years’ experience in the control and operation of boilers and turbines in a thermal power station
- Proven knowledge of thermal power station operations processes and practices
- Extensive knowledge of thermal power station safety systems, policies and practices and problem solving ability and experience in operation of Seimens T3000 HMI.
