Role Description:
The Business Customer Support Lead is an exciting opportunity in our Business Customer & Growth team based at our Perth Central Park office. This role plays a central part in supporting Synergy’s business customer operations, contributing to a culture that prioritises collaboration, customer centricity, and operational excellence.
As a key leader within the team, this position helps shape how the team works together, fostering an environment where people feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work. The role is instrumental in driving team cohesion, uplifting capability, and strengthening the overall effectiveness of our service delivery.
The Business Customer Support Lead will coach and develop a multi‑functional team of around eight specialists across contract fulfilment, sales support, and performance analytics, ensuring the team is empowered, capable, and aligned to shared outcomes. They will thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability, continuous improvement, and a strong people focus are essential, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the broader Customer business and contribute to improved outcomes for employees, customers, and Synergy as a whole.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide strong people leadership by fostering an inclusive, collaborative, high‑performance team culture focused on engagement, capability development, and customer centricity.
- Drive operational excellence across contract fulfilment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, reduced rework, and consistent, high‑quality customer outcomes.
- Oversee sales and broker support functions to ensure timely, accurate handling of enquiries, reporting, reconciliations, and support activities that enable seamless sales operations.
- Guide and prioritise analytics and insights work, ensuring data accuracy, actionable reporting, and effective trend identification to support informed decision‑making.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external partners, supporting effective collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
- A relevant business degree (or equivalent experience), along with substantial experience leading in compliance‑focused environments.
- Proven leadership capability with strengths in coaching, developing, engaging, and managing teams.
- Strong understanding of the Western Australian electricity market, supported by excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to interpret reporting and data into meaningful insights, with strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities, leverage technology to improve workflows, and build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
