Synergy’s Aboriginal Traineeship Program is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gain real experience, and complete a nationally recognised qualification.

Job responsibilities:

About The Program
This 12-month program offers holistic support, mentoring, and structured training to help you build your personal and professional skills.
As a Business Support Trainee, you’ll be placed in one of five business areas: Learning and Development, Health and Safety, Cyber, Procurement and Project Management.
You’ll be supported every step of the way with structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience that will build the foundation for long-term success.  

Throughout the program, you’ll: 

  • Work in a professional office environment
  • Learn from experienced mentors and team members
  • Use Microsoft Office to create documents and support daily tasks
  • Help with emails, calendars, meetings, and records
  • Collaborate with different teams across Synergy
  • Gain insights into how an energy business operates

What you will bring:

You don’t need any previous work experience, just a great attitude and a desire to grow. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable and committed to completing the traineeship
  • Has an interest in building a career in business, administration or project work
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Friendly, respectful, and a team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • With basic computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems

To be eligible for this program, you must: 
•    Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
•    Be 18 years of age or older
•    Have completed Year 10 or equivalent
•    Be committed to full-time work (37.5 hours/week) for 12 months, this includes one day per week at TAFE 
•    Provide a current National Police Clearance.
