Role Description:
The Buyer is a newly created opportunity in our Supply Chain team based at our Perth Central Park office. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering compliant, value-driven procurement outcomes across Synergy’s operational and corporate portfolios. Responsible for sourcing goods and services, the Buyer will lead end-to-end procurement activities including market engagement, supplier evaluation, and stakeholder coordination.
As a key interface between internal teams and external vendors, the Buyer contributes to sourcing strategy, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to ensure timely, cost-effective, and risk-aware procurement solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with experience in supply chain and/or logistics, and a passion for delivering value through operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for goods and services, including market analysis, RFx development, supplier evaluations, and recommendations.
- Coordinate supplier engagement and performance, ensuring timely delivery, competitive quotations, and risk-aware decision-making to support operational continuity.
- Administer procurement processes in SAP/Ariba, ensuring commercial accuracy and alignment with procurement strategy and policy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Category Managers and Contract Owners to ensure contract compliance, commercial alignment, and lifecycle optimisation.
- Contribute to procurement improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, compliance reporting, and supply chain risk management.
What you will bring:
- Certificate IV or higher in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or logistics, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP and/or Ariba, with excellent attention to detail and commercial accuracy.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operational and corporate teams.
- A proactive and organised approach, with strong negotiation skills and a commitment to continuous improvement and risk-aware decision-making.
