Role Description:
The Contract Manager is a newly created opportunity in our Supply Chain team based at our Perth Central Park office. Reporting to the Manager Contracts Management, this role sits within Synergy's Finance Business Unit and plays an important part in supporting the organisation's operational and strategic objectives through effective contract management and supplier partnerships.
Working across a diverse portfolio of critical contracts supporting Synergy's Thermal Generation operations, the Contract Manager acts as a trusted commercial advisor, partnering with stakeholders across the business to help maximise value, strengthen relationships, and support informed decision making. The role operates at the intersection of commercial, operational and governance outcomes, helping ensure Synergy continues to deliver reliable and sustainable services to its customers and communities.
This position offers the opportunity to engage with senior leaders, key business functions, and strategic suppliers in a collaborative and evolving environment. As part of a high-performing Supply Chain team, the Contract Manager will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help shape best-practice contract management approaches that support Synergy's long-term success.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of complex and high-value contracts to optimise commercial outcomes, contractor performance and risk management across the business.
- Partner with Contract Owners and key stakeholders to provide strategic contractual and commercial advice that supports informed decision making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive collaboration, accountability and contract performance.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage contract variations, claims and other commercial matters to achieve balanced and sustainable outcomes.
- Monitor and govern contract performance, ensuring compliance with contractual, legislative and organisational requirements while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 7 years' experience in contract and supplier management, with demonstrated success managing complex contracts and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or a related discipline, with a sound understanding of contract law and its practical application in a commercial environment.
- Proven ability to provide high-level contractual and commercial advice to stakeholders, balancing business objectives, risk, compliance and legislative requirements.
- Highly developed negotiation, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience building trusted relationships and working effectively with senior leaders, contractors and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex contractual matters, develop practical solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance value, performance and compliance.
