Role Description:

The Customer Billing Officer is an exciting 12-month contract opportunity in our Residential & Customer Operations unit based at our Perth office.

The primary focus of this role is to provide billing expertise to the billing team and partners, supporting the delivery of billing services across all customer segments.

The Customer Billing Officer delivers technical and operational expertise to drive improvements in billing systems and processes, enhancing efficiency and supporting customers with billing challenges. The role contributes to change initiatives and evaluates opportunities to strengthen and sustain billing operations.

Success in this role relies on a collaborative approach, building strong cross-functional relationships to meet customer needs and deliver tailored billing solutions.

Job responsibilities:

  • Process complex, escalated, and key account billing exceptions and tasks ensuring integrity of billing data is maintained to the highest level for contestable and franchise customers.
  • Compliance to all relevant codes, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for delivering the optimum billing experience for customer’s, ensuring that all metering and billing activities are performed for the customer throughout the life of their contract.
  • Work closely with the lead, specialist and cross functional teams to plan and iterate continuous improvement ideas and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including team members to ensure data and service performance issues are identified and appropriately managed.

What you will bring:

  • Completion of Year 12 certification
  • 3+ years’ experience in high volume customer support / service operations
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Experience identifying process improvements and pre-emptive measures to mitigate risk
