Role Description:
Kickstart your career in energy
Curious about how businesses really work and how your degree applies in the real world?
Our 12-week paid Vacation Program (November 2026 to February 2027) gives you hands-on experience, builds your confidence, and helps you explore a future career in energy. Based in Perth, you’ll get a mix of office experience and exposure to how operations come together across WA.
You’ll contribute to meaningful work, learn from experienced professionals, and see how your ideas can make an impact — all while building practical skills for your future career.
We welcome applications from students who have completed at least two years of university. If you’re in your penultimate year, this experience may also lead to opportunities in our Graduate Program where roles are available.

About the Energy Trading Vacation Student role
A typical day in this team is fast-paced and closely connected to real-time market outcomes. You’ll be working in a dynamic environment where factors like weather, demand, and generation can influence pricing and decisions almost instantly.
You’ll support the team by analysing data, exploring trends, and contributing to insights that help inform trading decisions and manage risk. This could include looking at market movements, building models, or supporting scenario analysis to understand how different conditions may impact outcomes.
One of the most exciting parts of this role is seeing how quickly your work can make an impact. The insights you contribute can feed directly into decisions and be reflected in outcomes within hours or days — giving you a strong sense of ownership and immediate feedback.
You’ll also spend time working alongside experienced traders, observing how they interpret information, respond to changing conditions, and make decisions under pressure. This real-time exposure helps bring the market to life in a way that goes beyond theory.

Who is eligible for the program?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be currently studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Have completed at least two years of university study and be continuing in 2027
You’ll also need to:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Complete a National Police Check and pre-employment checks
