Role Description:

The Internal Auditor role is a newly classified opportunity in our Internal Audit Team based at our Perth Head Office site.

The purpose of the role is to provide independent and objective internal audit services for Synergy, with the aim of continuously improving Synergy’s internal control frameworks and supporting effective governance.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure all audit activities are conducted in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter and the annual Internal Audit Plan, approved by the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
  • Undertake investigations in accordance with Synergy’s investigation procedure, as directed by the Head of Internal Audit.
  • Present audit findings to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members.
  • Represent Synergy as a probity officer on Tier 1 procurement evaluation panels, articulating governance requirements.
  • Contribute to internal audit continuous improvement activities.

What you will bring:

  • Degree qualification in accounting, commerce and/or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of practical internal audit experience or relevant experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in probity and procurement governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile clear, concise, and professional audit reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
