Role Description:
The Manager Business Customer Support is an exciting opportunity in our Business Customer team based at our Perth Central Park office. This role sits within a high‑profile function focused on supporting Synergy’s business customers as their energy needs evolve. As part of the Business Customer leadership team, the position contributes to the overall direction of the function while promoting a strong customer‑focused and values‑led culture.
Reporting to the Head of Business Customer, the role leads a dedicated customer support capability that underpins strong relationships with business customers and internal sales teams. It operates at the intersection of customer experience, operational delivery, and organisational priorities, requiring close collaboration across Customer, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
The role also plays an important part in strengthening the foundations for sustainable performance through effective use of insights, reporting, and governance frameworks. It is well suited to an experienced leader who enjoys working in a complex, regulated environment and contributing at both a strategic and operational level.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and people leadership to the Business Customer Support team, fostering a high‑performance, customer‑focused, and values‑led culture aligned to business objectives.
- Oversee the delivery of high‑quality customer support, contract fulfilment, and contestable contract management, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellent customer outcomes.
- Partner closely with Sales, Customer Operations, Legal, and Regulatory teams to support seamless customer experiences and achieve commercial and customer objectives.
- Lead performance and insight capability across the function, including reporting frameworks, service metrics, and administration of the Sales Incentive Scheme to support informed decision‑making.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, and compliance practices are embedded across operations, including ownership of internal audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, with post‑graduate study considered an advantage.
- Significant experience leading and developing multi‑functional teams within customer support, service delivery, or operational environments.
- A strong track record in driving employee engagement, performance, development, and workforce capability.
- Demonstrated ability to improve end‑to‑end customer experiences through process optimisation, workflow improvement, and data‑driven insights.
- Well‑developed stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across legal, risk, commercial, and operational teams in complex or regulated environments.
