Role Description:

 

The Manager Corporate Shared Services (CSS) Procurement is an exciting opportunity within Synergy’s Supply Chain team, based at our Perth Central Park office. This leadership role is responsible for driving strategic procurement outcomes across IT, professional services, corporate functions, and indirect spend. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Manager CSS Procurement leads a team of Category Managers to deliver commercial value, support enterprise objectives, and uplift procurement capability and maturity.

 

The successful candidate will lead and elevate the CSS Procurement function by empowering a high-performing team, shaping integrated category strategies, and optimising total cost of ownership, contract lifecycle value, and supply continuity. Acting as a strategic business partner, they will challenge the status quo, influence business outcomes, and position procurement as a forward-thinking, value-driven contributor to Synergy’s purpose.

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and execute robust, integrated category strategies across IT, professional services, corporate functions, and indirect spend, aligned with business priorities and enterprise risk appetite.
  • Build a high-performing team culture by mentoring Category Managers to drive commercial negotiation outcomes, supplier performance, and category governance.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify opportunities for commercial improvement, risk reduction, and innovation, positioning procurement as a strategic enabler.
  • Champion disciplined contract management practices that enhance cost control, supplier accountability, and risk mitigation across the CSS portfolio.
  • Lead initiatives to uplift procurement maturity, including technology adoption, ESG/sustainability integration, and continuous improvement in sourcing and governance.

What you will bring:

 

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or category management, including 3+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Commerce, Business, or Supply Chain (CIPS certification or legal qualifications desirable), with experience in regulated industries such as utilities or government.
  • Strong capability in commercial negotiation, contract lifecycle management, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to align procurement strategies with enterprise goals, challenge the status quo, and influence senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba, with a focus on leveraging data and analytics to support decision-making and performance visibility.
