Role Description:

The Manager Customer Technologies Portfolio role is a 12 month fixed term opportunity in our Technology and Business Services Unit based at our Central Park office in Perth.

 

The position is accountable for the end‑to‑end planning, prioritisation, governance, and delivery of an assigned Customer Technology portfolio, ensuring technology investment delivers measurable business value, improved customer outcomes, and strategic alignment as it applies to the Customer Business Unit.

 

The position leads delivery across the full demand spectrum—from operational tickets and minor enhancements through to change requests, projects, and complex multi‑year programs—ensuring work is appropriately prioritised, funded, governed, and executed to balance customer experience, regulatory obligations, operational stability, and transformation outcomes.

 

Working in strong partnership with the Customer Business Unit, the role acts as the single point of accountability for the assigned portfolio delivery outcomes, ensuring customer priorities, business outcomes, and technology delivery are tightly aligned. All work—regardless of size, complexity, or delivery method—is aligned to Synergy’s corporate strategy, TBS Game Plan, and customer commitments, while optimising cost, risk, capacity, and value realisation

Job responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for managing and implementing the Customer Technologies portfolio, ensuring that demand prioritisation, technology roadmaps, and delivery results are in line with business objectives, corporate strategy, and the TBS game plan.
  • Lead end-to-end demand governance by establishing a unified demand-to-delivery framework, ensuring initiatives are assessed for value, risk, urgency, regulatory impact, and delivery feasibility.
  • Drive investment and portfolio planning by co-creating strategy, developing business cases, managing funding and financial performance, and maintaining integrated portfolio plans that balance priorities, dependencies, and resource capacity.
  • Provide accountability and oversight for portfolio delivery, ensuring successful execution across programs, projects, and operational initiatives while delivering strategic business outcomes and maintaining governance compliance.
  • Optimise resources and foster strong stakeholder partnerships, effectively balancing operational stability with change delivery, while communicating portfolio performance, risks, and outcomes to support informed decision-making.

What you will bring:

  • +7 years’ professional experience in portfolio management, project management, project delivery or associated field in a dynamic environment. 
  • Certified in more than one project and program management or agile methodologies/practices
  • Proven experience in IT program and portfolio management, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects and programs.
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in ICT or a similar field or other fields such as engineering, finance, economics, law, philosophy
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills
