Role Description:
Kickstart your career in energy
Curious about how businesses really work and how your degree applies in the real world?
Our 12-week paid Vacation Program (November 2026 to February 2027) gives you hands-on experience, builds your confidence, and helps you explore a future career in energy. Based in Perth, you’ll get a mix of office experience and exposure to how operations come together across WA.
You’ll contribute to meaningful work, learn from experienced professionals, and see how your ideas can make an impact — all while building practical skills for your future career.
We welcome applications from students who have completed at least two years of university. If you’re in your penultimate year, this experience may also lead to opportunities in our Graduate Program where roles are available.

About the Mechanical Engineer Vacation Student role
A typical day in this team is hands-on and focused on keeping our plant and equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently. You’ll work on real engineering activities that support the operation and performance of mechanical systems across our sites.
You might be involved in maintenance planning, inspections, condition monitoring, or supporting outage activities. You could also assist with investigating equipment issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, or supporting upgrades and modifications to plant systems.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll gain practical insight into how mechanical systems are maintained, tested and improved in a large, complex environment.
You’ll spend a significant amount of time on operational sites, experiencing first-hand how equipment performs in real conditions and building hands-on engineering capability beyond what you learn at Uni

Who is eligible for the program?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be currently studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Have completed at least two years of university study and be continuing in 2027
You’ll also need to:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Complete a National Police Check and pre-employment checks
