Role Description:
The OT Engineer is an exciting opportunity in our DER & OT Systems team based at our Perth Central Park office. This role supports the implementation and improvement of Synergy’s OT platforms, including SCADA systems, industrial networking, and time-series historians, with a strong focus on reliability, cybersecurity, and innovation.
The successful candidate will work across business units to integrate new sites, enhance existing systems, and contribute to projects that prepare Synergy for the rapid integration of renewable generation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge OT technologies and play a key part in shaping WA’s energy future.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide support for Ignition SCADA and assist with Pi integration.
- Integrate new Synergy sites into OT platforms and implement system improvements.
- Compile engineering specifications, technical standards, and documentation.
- Manage small-scale projects and coordinate routine work with internal teams and vendors.
- Conduct tests and troubleshooting to resolve OT system malfunctions.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ experience in control systems engineering, including SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networking, protocols, and time-series historians.
- Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, AVEVA Pi, and protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, DNP3, and Modbus (desirable).
- Experience with Python scripting (desirable).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
