Role Description:

 

The Pricing and Portfolio Analyst is an exciting opportunity within our Customer Marketing function, based at our Perth Central Park office. This customer-centric role sits in the Pricing Strategy and Financial Performance area and plays an important part in helping the retail business make data driven, well-informed pricing and portfolio decisions.

 

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you’ll be involved in delivering impactful and invigorating work supporting the retail energy market, where you will consider customer needs, ever changing conditions and risk. With your ability to help bring clarity to complex problems by analysing for our data, identifying insights, and explaining what it all means in a clear and practical way.

 

The role works closely with teams across Products, Sales, Finance, and Wholesale. You’ll help our business understand questions like where value is being created, where risk is emerging, and how market movements affect customers and the retail portfolio overall.

 

This role offers variety, learning and growth in a fast-moving environment. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, asking good questions, and turning analysis into insights that others can easily understand and act on. If you like problem-solving, collaborating with different teams, and seeing your work influence real decisions, this role will give you that opportunity.

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Provide analysis to support pricing decisions, portfolio optimisation and long-term sustainability of pricing outcomes for Customer Business Unit.
  • Develop and maintain pricing and forecast models, including portfolio value, customer contribution and risk, with exposure to a range of external and internal factors.
  • Translate performance complexity into insights focusing on pricing and financial drivers, actionable levers, using data driven decision making and associated tools sets.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Sales and Products on pricing modelling, opportunity evaluation, offer construction and assessment of commercial and portfolio risks.
  • Foster the ‘One Synergy’ mindset through cross team-oriented collaboration and communication which aligns with strategic objectives and Synergy’s values.

What you will bring:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Economics or a related analytics-based discipline, with strong analytical and problem‑solving capability and proactive mindset.
  • Advanced modelling skills and experience using large data sets and analysis to model complex pricing scenarios and deliver fit for purpose outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel and other tools, to deliver insights with a methodical, risk‑aware approach to pricing, portfolio and analysis
  • Ability to translate complex data into meaningful stories, particularly for non-technical stakeholders, including visualisations, options analysis and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to tactfully challenge assumptions and influence outcomes constructively.
