Role Description:

The Project Developer DER is a 6 month fixed term opportunity in our Future Energy team based at our Central Park office in Perth.

 

As part of our DER (Distributed Energy Resources) team under the strategic leadership of our DER Strategy and Development Manager, we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to contribute to the prioritization, identification, and development of DER projects that align with our strategic objectives and vision for the future of energy.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop a pipeline of DER initiatives that contribute to meeting Synergy’s strategic objectives, DER roadmap, and anticipated energy policy changes, market reforms, and customer demand specifically relating to work on Electric Vehicles charging and Vehicle to Grid.
  • Lead activities to understand current and future value streams for Electric Vehicle integration, providing insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Proactively coordinate internal perspectives on technical, customer, financial, regulatory, and policy matters related to DER to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Support the coordination of Synergy’s external engagements with key stakeholders, ensuring consistency in messaging and objectives.
  • Identify capability and capacity gaps in DER execution, coordinating with relevant Business Units to efficiently address these gaps and avoid duplication.

What you will bring:

  • Experience with coordinating complex DER initiatives that require deep understanding of techno-economic, social and market requirements.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or relevant industry experience with demonstrated experience in the Energy sector on delivering complex solutions.
  • Experience with coordinating complex innovative initiatives that relate to the energy industry, EV experience highly regarded.
  • A project management or engineering post-graduate qualification would be highly regarded, but not essential if demonstrated equivalent experience within the Energy or resources sector.
  • Understanding of gentailer operations, regulations, rules and policies as they relate to DER in Western Australia.
