Role Description:

The Project Document Controller role is a 12 month fixed term opportunity in our Technology and Business Services Unit based at our Central Park, Perth City offices.

 

The Project Document Controller (Engineering Design Delivery) ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant management of engineering and design documentation across project lifecycles. This role provides technical documentation support to multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, enabling high‑quality design delivery, traceability of revisions, strong version control, and efficient document workflows for both internal and external stakeholders.

Job responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage project document control systems to ensure accurate, compliant handling of engineering documentation in line with organisational standards, contractual deliverables, and project milestones.
  • Maintain end to end control of technical documentation across the project lifecycle, including registration, classification, version control, status management, transmittals, and withdrawal of superseded documents.
  • Coordinate and track engineering deliverables and workflows, supporting design reviews, procurement, construction interfaces, vendor documentation, and technical handover to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality and integrity of documentation, including metadata accuracy, revision control, drawing standards, title blocks, formatting, file naming conventions, and controlled distribution.
  • Provide document control expertise and stakeholder support, liaising with engineers, drafters, contractors, and vendors, guiding users on document standards and document management systems while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ Years experience in document control, records management and exposure to project environments. 
  • Knowledge of document control principles, standards, and systems. 
  • Experience supporting operational readiness or project handover processes. 
  • Experience with OpenText, InEight or other project document management systems. 
  • Experience in a government, utilities, or regulated environment.
