Role Description:
The Senior Asset Data Engineer is an exciting 12-month max term opportunity in our Perth Central Park office.
This role is central to supporting informed, evidence-based decisions in the management of our Thermal Generation assets.
The Senior Asset Data Engineer will be taking complex data about our thermal and renewable assets and turning it into clear, actionable insights. This role leads the development and adoption of data‑driven decision‑making models to support the efficient and effective operation of our Thermal Generation assets.
Job responsibilities:
- Extract data from various sources, understand the data, and perform necessary transformations to make it useful for decision-making using our Azure and Databricks environment
- Translate data into effective asset management actions
- Work closely with engineers and asset management teams to understand their data requirements and build insightful dashboards
- Provide guidance to the Thermal Generation Business unit on managing and continuously improving on our digital asset management strategy
- Drive data discussions with trading, corporate strategy, regulatory and compliance teams to spot risks, uphold market regulations, and guide corporate direction
What you will bring:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, data science, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in digital asset management, preferably within the engineering industry or related sectors
- Proficient in developing data pipelines to streamline and optimise data flow
- Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Azure Platform for cloud services and solutions
- Competency in Power BI or equivalent tools for data visualization and business intelligence
