Role Description:
The Senior Future Energy Engineer is a 12 month plus Fixed Term opportunity in our Future Energy Team based at our Central Park Offices in Perth.
The purpose of this role is to lead and shape the development and implementation of advanced control strategies for power systems. Your focus will be on optimizing performance, mastering regulatory compliance, and providing leadership in seamlessly integrating renewable energy assets into the power grid. Beyond that, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for network connection processes, actively contributing to the continuous development of internal engineering standards. Your role extends to strategically guiding transformative changes and setting new benchmarks in the field.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide technical and safety leadership through the provision of engineering services across the Future Energy assets portfolio.
- Collaborate with grid and market operators, OEMs and cross-functional teams to achieve availability and reliability targets for Future Energy assets.
- Serve as an SME to influence positive Process Safety and Asset Management outcomes for Synergy's assets and ensure regulatory and market compliance.
- Provide thoughtful leadership through the provision of engineering services to help Synergy achieve best in class Safety and reliability performance.
- Collaborate with the Future Energy Operations Asset Engineer and Site Maintenance Teams to lead the Management of Change process for the KBESS1 and KBESS2 facilities.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of operations and maintenance engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulatory bodies.
- 5-7 Years proven operational, maintenance or projects experience as an Electrical, Mechanical or Control Systems Engineer.
