Role Description:
The Senior Incident Management and Risk Advisor is a newly created opportunity in the Residential & Customer Operations team based at Synergy’s Perth Central Park office. This position plays a critical role in ensuring seamless management of incidents and operational risks within the Customer Business Unit (CBU). The role is designed to safeguard business continuity, minimise disruptions, and drive continuous improvement across risk and resilience frameworks.
The Senior Incident Management and Risk Advisor oversees the full incident lifecycle, from identification and resolution through to closure. They lead root cause investigations, analyse incident trends, and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences. In addition, they manage the CBU risk register, conduct regular risk assessments, and provide tools, policies, and frameworks to strengthen operational resilience and embed best-practice risk management processes.
Collaboration is central to this role. The Senior Incident Management and Risk Advisor works closely with senior leaders, internal teams, and strategic partners to deliver timely solutions and foster a strong risk-aware culture. Job responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end management of incidents, taking clear ownership in high pressure situations to ensure timely resolution, effective risk mitigation, and robust post-incident review.
- Lead root cause investigations and analyse incident trends to develop and implement strategies that prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct regular operational risk assessments and maintain the Customer Business Unit (CBU) risk register, ensuring mitigation measures are in place.
- Develop and enhance risk and incident management frameworks, policies, and performance measures to strengthen organisational resilience.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting risk awareness and supporting cross-functional projects to optimise processes.
What you will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Enterprise Risk Management, Business, or a relevant technical field, with post-graduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in risk management or business continuity roles within complex commercial environments or the utilities sector.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management, organisational resilience, and incident response principles, with a proven ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, combined with analytical capability and commercial acumen.
- The ability to apply risk identification and assessment techniques in complex environments, supported by excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
