Role Description:
The Senior Process Safety Risk Engineer is a newly created opportunity in our Perth Central Park Office.
The Process Safety and Asset Management (PSAM) team’s objective is to equip Synergy with the processes and tools needed to make sound asset management decisions and effectively manage process safety risks—both for current operations and the transition to a new energy future.
The Senior Process Safety Risk Engineer plays a key role in this by supporting the implementation of the Synergy Process Safety Management Framework, providing technical leadership in risk and asset management, and delivering process safety coaching across the business.
The role also contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of these processes and tools.
Job responsibilities:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and provide governance, support and if required lead/facilitate Synergy's process safety risk identification process, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other risk assessment activities
- Support the management, maintenance and continuous improvement of process safety systems including but not limited to, management of change system, risk management system, process safety dashboard and others
- Lead incident investigations including root causes analysis
- Provide leadership and continued improvement for Synergy's Process Safety Management (PSM) Framework aligned with EI PSM Framework
- Provide governance, support, and leadership for process safety training to ensure the sustainability of Synergy's process safety culture and capability
What you will bring:
- Degree qualifications in Engineering or experience deemed equivalent
- Strong technical expertise in risk management in an industrial environment
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in process safety management
- Experience in operations environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and practical approach to finding solutions and addressing challenges
