Role Description:

Reporting into the Graduate and Entry Level Programs Lead, the Traineeship Coordinator (DEI) role is a newly created opportunity in our Organisational Development and Learning Team based at our Perth Central Park site. 

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the development of Synergy’s inaugural Aboriginal Traineeship program, fostering cultural competency by providing education to leaders and employees, and driving initiatives aimed at proactively addressing workforce diversity gaps while improving employment and development outcomes.

Your role will be pivotal in supporting the Graduate & Entry Level Programs Lead across all early careers programs. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Synergy’s First Nation traineeship program, ensuring alignment with the program framework and connecting trainees to opportunities and funding.
  • Design and deliver cultural competency education programs to enhance awareness, sensitivity, and understanding among leaders and employees.
  • Advocate for inclusive practices aligned with Aboriginal cultural competency, Synergy’s Reconciliation Action Plan, and broader learning initiatives.
  • Evaluate and monitor program delivery for compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and state industrial legislation.
  • Collaborate with support services to provide comprehensive guidance, assisting trainees in achieving their vocational goals and developing future-ready skills.

What you will bring:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, customs, and community.
  • Experience in supporting and coordinating early careers programs, with sound project and program management skills.
  • Sound understanding of workforce diversity principles and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a minimum of 3 years’ equivalent experience.
  • A Cert IV in Training & Assessment will be viewed favourably.
