Role Description:

The Maintenance Superintendent is a newly created opportunity based at our Pinjar Power Station site.

In this pivotal role you will direct, plan, and coordinate plant maintenance activities and staffing to meet site maintenance requirements.

The objective of the role is to oversee the short and long-term maintenance standards of the site to ensure all plant and equipment is inspected, maintained, and repaired, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power station in accordance with the Asset mission statement and management plan. 

You will ensure continual improvement of asset performance and business standards in compliance with the Asset Management and Strategic Plans. 

This position champions the work management process to deliver asset reliability, drives continuous improvement in plant operations & maintenance and actively participates in budget development and the effective management of allocated financial resources. 

This role effectively leads maintenance, working together with engineering and production teams to support system needs, evaluate maintenance performance, maintains high standards of safety, quality, schedule and drives continuous improvement by serving as a champion of change.

Job responsibilities:

  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans and programs to ensure the availability, reliability and efficiency of power station plant and equipment are improved
  • Ensure all emergent issues are correctly prioritised according to criticality and risk for the power station’s continuous operation and communicated to the team using the computerised maintenance system (SAP) in order to minimise downtime
  • Ensure the maintenance planning team prioritise and assign tasks in preparation for the weekly maintenance plan and ensure week ahead maintenance schedule is communicated, reviewed and aligned with the production and technical team leads
  • Liaise regularly with the Engineering manager to ensure all engineering maintenance plans have detailed technical scope of works and are coordinated effectively
  • Supervise the procurement process to ensure the required spares and services are coordinated to allow sufficient time for effective planning
  • Oversee contracts and liaise with all contractors required for the plant maintenance and review contract terms and conditions to ensure commercial and legal risk is managed 

What you will bring:

  • Detailed knowledge of power station operations and maintenance, preferably Gas Turbines
  • Extensive knowledge of power plant operating and maintenance practices, and equipment maintenance strategies
  • Experience of reliability centred maintenance processes and methodologies
  • Experience developing and implementing maintenance and outage processes and procedures
  • Experience in outage and maintenance management, including scheduling of resource/material planning
