Role Description:

We are looking for two Mechanical Engineers both based at our Pinjar Power Station site. We have one permanent role, and one 6-month max term role.

 

The purpose of the role is to undertake engineering assignments encompassing subject matter expertise for projects, design reviews, conceptual technical proposals, and cost estimates.

 

You will take the lead role in the investigation of technical problems and recommend safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations into plant operating/performance problems and Analyse plant failures, as reported by different working groups in site. Recommend or initiate solutions including, redesign, material change etc. (Work closely with Attended Operations team to accomplish this).
  • Prepare technical scope, supervise/coordinate or carry out activities, associated with manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance/repair of equipment and systems as required.
  • Support Maintenance Team in executing Outages. Participate in the outages as Engineering representative.
  • Complete design review, and approve engineering work done by staff, contractors and consultants.

What you will bring:

  • Relevant Engineering degree essential
  • WA Driver’s Licence Class “C” or “C-A”
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an Engineering role
  • Preferred experience with a Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the electricity industry and/or power generating equipment
  • Preferred experience in existing knowledge of heavy industrial Gas Turbines in open or combined cycle operation
