Role Description:

The Mechanical Technical Officer is a newly created opportunity based at our Pinjar Power Station site. The purpose of the role is to carry out a high level technical, commercial, and supervisory activities associated with the operation and maintenance of gas turbine a sustainable plant both within and external to Synergy.

Job responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise/coordinate or carry out activities, associated with manufacture, installation, isolation/de - isolation, permit to work, commissioning, operation and maintenance/repair of equipment and systems as required.
  • Carry out technical inspection, prepare reports with recommendations and/or arrange necessary action and develop method sheets for major plant as required.
  • Manage maintenance outage projects in accordance with budget, to time targets whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • Supervise, monitor performance, coordinate and check works carried out by staff, contractors and consultants.
  • Prepare/check/assess/coordinate designs, calculations, estimates, sketches, specifications/tenders, working drawings and schedules.

What you will bring:

  • Advanced TAFE certificate or a TAFE diploma in relevant discipline
  • A trade certificate in the relevant discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience, skills and knowledge covering:
    • Gas Turbine Operation and Maintenance.
    • Inspection/testing practices.
    • Equipment maintenance/repair practices and equipment commission/operation practice.
